Virginia sculpts her gorgeous, tactile works in a whole range of sizes and materials, her preference being to carve direct in stone or wood. We love her smaller alabaster and bronze pieces, all invitingly smooth, sensuous and intensely pleasing to the eye. And her life-size poured stone ladies for the garden are especially attention-seeking in all of their naked and curvaceous glory – a long line of admirers has visited Virginia’s West Dorset garden, where several of her ladies reside. A graduate of St Martin’s College of Art and a well-travelled veteran of the world, Virginia has shown her work extensively in Europe and the US and is never encumbered with unsold pieces.
