McMaster Tims supports Tusk Trust

We are huge fans of Tusk Trust, the prestigious African conservation charity run by the small Tusk team from their base here in Dorset. Tusk supports a diverse and fascinating array of projects in extraordinarily remote corners of the African continent. But most important to us are its ground breaking community projects in Northern Kenya, where Tusk and its partners have so far successfully brought together the diverse tribal communities of over two million acres of previously unprotected land. In a series of extraordinary bush meetings, tribal elders from these wild and frequently embattled areas have agreed a common conservation policy which is directly benefitting over 75,000 local people as well as affording very significant protection for the often ravaged local wildlife population. This pioneering work is outstandingly effective in linking responsible conservation based tourism with the implementation of greater security, improved infrastructure, healthcare, employment and vital education initiatives for local tribal people who until now have been left to fend for themselves against the gradual and often destructive reach of the outside world and the violence of unimpeded poaching.

We have seen with our own eyes that these projects are working with enormous effect and with a huge amount of support from the local tribal people at every level of their communities.
