Our Artists - Christine McArthur Christine McArthur (b. 1953)
We were stopped in our tracks the first time we saw Scottish artist Christine McArthur’s utterly gorgeous work at a London show. Her use of subtly mixed colours, torn paper layers and distinctive brushwork, together build profoundly pleasing, tactile paintings, inspired by the simple processes of everyday life. “It is all still a bit of a lovely and perplexing mystery to me after all these years of painting,” says Christine, when asked to describe the process of creating her work for us.
Christine has received an impressive clutch of prizes and awards over the years and has exhibited widely and successfully throughout her career. Her many public and private collectors include: The Royal Bank of Scotland, United Distillers and the Export and Import Bank of Japan.
Prices for Christine’s work range from £4,650 to £7,500. |
