Our Artists - Brian Rice

(b. 1936)

Few artists were more prominent on the 1960’s and 1970’s art scene than Brian Rice, examples of whose critically acclaimed work are held in the Tate Collection, as well as adorning the walls of major corporations, museums and celebrities worldwide. Recently described as a “cool, post pop, post Bauhaus avant–garde artist”, Brian’s bold, geometric, abstract work remains absolutely contemporary, dynamic and powerful.

Collectors include Hertford College, Oxford, University of Bristol, The British Council, and the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. Brian’s work has also featured in numerous colour supplements including The Sunday Times, The Observer, Nova, Tatler, House and Garden and Woman, as well as in room interiors advertising White Horse Whisky, Hoover Gas Fires, Furniture and Carpets, the “Modern Room” series for Geffrye Museums, The Evening News show house for the 1970 Ideal Home Exhibition and in films such as “The Untouchables” and Robert Redford’s “The Candidate”.

We have several of Brian's paintings in our repertoire.  Please call 07775 586 568 for more information.
